Taipei Medical University Hospital (TMUH) is deeply committed to women’s health, thus established the Breast Cancer Medical Center in 2015. Our center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including dedicated consultation rooms, advanced breast ultrasound scanners, digital mammography machines, and breast biopsy equipment. Moreover, it features specialized imaging report rooms and disease consulting rooms, offering comprehensive and professional services.

The Breast Cancer Medical Center has assembled the finest medical team from TMUH. Beyond basic breast surgeon, oncologist, and radiation oncologist teams, it also encompasses reproductive medicine to address patients’ fertility needs; plastic surgeon and rehabilitation physicians focusing on post-treatment appearance and lymphedema issues; a cardio-oncology team to mitigate potential post-treatment cardiovascular issues, and experts in nutrition and cancer genetics, providing patient-centered holistic care.

The breast cancer treatment at TMUH integrates domestic and international cancer treatment experiences with the research and innovative achievements of its academic institutions. In collaboration with molecular oncology and genetic medicine teams, we offer precise personalized treatment plans for breast cancer patients. Post-surgical radiotherapy for breast cancer is crucial for successful outcomes, which may also affect the quality of life post-treatment. Proton therapy is proven to reduce the radiation dose to the heart and lungs, which is a distinctive feature in TMUH. Starting from 2022, TMU Proton Center began offering high-quality proton therapy. To date, we have treated over 200 patients, with more than 20% being diagnosed breast cancer. The Proton Center at Taipei Medical University boasts the most professional medical team and extensive experience, providing breast cancer patients with comprehensive care, continuous follow-ups, and ongoing support.
